Features
MECHANICAL RESISTANCE
RESISTEX® GRAPHENE has a higher tenacity and abrasion resistance than normal polyester or polyamide yarns.
ANTISTATIC / CONDUCTIVE
The electrical conductivity of yarn depends on the type of fibre and its thickness and can range from 10^3 Ω to 10^6 Ω, placing it in the range of both antistatic and conductive yarns.
THERMOREGULATING
RESISTEX® GRAPHENE can keep the basal body temperature stable, without large temperature fluctuations when there are changes in ambient temperature or during physical exertion.
Graphene, which was obtained experimentally only a decade ago, is the most widely studied material in the world today. Although
hundreds of two-dimensional (2D) crystals are available, graphene is undoubtedly the most famous because of its intrinsic characteristics. It is produced from graphite and consists of a monoatomic layer of carbon atoms, arranged in a hexagonal structure.
It is the thinnest material in nature and has the thickness of a single atom.
Graphene covers a very high surface area and is an almost impermeable barrier to most chemical elements.
Tecnofilati, always with its focus on innovative and performing materials, has developed a new generation of antistatic yarns able to chemically bind graphene to the yarn surface.
The graphene used in these yarns is of the highest quality available on the market, with an accurate control of the atomic layers (average distribution of 6 ÷ 8 atomic layers). The advantage of a chemical bond with the surface of the yarn guarantees, in comparison with a classic coating, excellent resistance to abrasion, washing, and limits the increase in weight of the yarn and its stiffness. The coating dimension is nanometric with respect to the micrometric dimension of the fibres constituting the yarn.
RESISTEX® GRAPHENE is produced from high quality Graphene raw materials, certified by a prestigious Italian University, centre of excellence on nano-structures, through technical analysis of optical and electron microscopy and micro-raman spectroscopy of the graphene-coated yarn.
